Bayern Munich's Tuchel Questions Team's Attitude After Bremen Defeat
Subpar Performance Leaves Bayern Seven Points Off Top
Tuchel Perplexed by Team's Failure to Match Training Excellence
Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has expressed his bewilderment after his team's 1-0 home defeat to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. The loss marked Bayern's second defeat in the league this season, leaving them seven points behind league leaders Borussia Dortmund.
Tuchel, who took over as Bayern manager in July, said he was struggling to understand why his players were unable to replicate the high level of performance they had shown in training.
"We had a very good week of training," Tuchel said. "We trained very well, and the atmosphere was very good. But today, we didn't play like we trained. We didn't play with the same intensity, the same aggression. We didn't play with the same quality."
Tuchel also questioned the attitude of his players, suggesting that they may not have been fully focused on the game.
"I don't know what happened today," Tuchel said. "I don't know why we didn't play like we can. I don't know why we didn't play with the same attitude and the same intensity that we showed in training.
Bayern's defeat to Bremen was their first home defeat in the Bundesliga since April 2016. The loss will be a major setback for Tuchel, who is under pressure to deliver success in his first season in charge.
